Dear Birth Parents,
Hi There! Our names are Jason and
Kim. We want to thank you for taking the time to look at our life
together and possibly see your baby as part of our family. We truly
respect and admire your sacrifice and know this is an extremely
important decision for you and a wonderful act of love for your baby.
We want to reassure you through our photos and words that we are
committed to each other and the beautiful baby that we hope joins our
family. No matter what happens – we wish you the best of luck in your
search for the perfect family for your precious child.
A Brief History about
us:
We met 9 years ago when we were both
working in advertising sales. We started chatting at a company function
and had so much fun together! It was meant to be and we have been
together ever since our first date. We have been married now for over 6
years. We live in a big A frame home in a neighborhood of Chicago. We
have a deep love and affection for each other. Jason has a wonderful
sense of humor. He is kind, honest and hardworking. Kim is outgoing,
creative and friendly. She is organized and determined. Together we
make a great team.
A little about Jason:
Jason grew up on the north side of
Chicago with his parents, 2 sisters and brother. He went to Loyola High
School, a private high school known for their excellent academics. He
was on the swim and Water Polo teams. He broke many local swim
records. Jason went to the University of Illinois – Chicago where he
earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He currently is a
Regional Sales Manager for a mortgage lending company. Jason loves
sports, especially baseball and football. He is a pretty good golfer
too. He also loves to travel and spend time with family. His 1 sister
is currently living in Hawaii where she is a personal trainer and is
engaged. Jason's other sister lives in the Chicago suburbs and is newly
married. His younger brother lives in Chicago and is single. His Mom
lives in Arizona and visits us often.
A
little about Kim:
Kim grew up in the northern suburbs
of Chicago with her parents, sister and brother. She was involved in
many things growing up and took 8 years of ballet and dance. She also
played softball and volleyball in junior high and high school. She was a
member of the Snowflake Ski Club. Kim went to college at Illinois State
University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising and
minors in Business and Economics. She is currently a Sales Account
Executive for a large investment bank. Kim’s sister is married with 3
kids who are 14,13 and 11 and they live in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Kim
spends alot of time with them. Her brother is single and lives in the
northern suburbs as well where he owns his own office equipment
business. Kim’s mom lives blocks away from her sister, which is great
for the kids. She is retired from the Chicago Medical School and we see
her often. Kim enjoys gardening, reading, going to sporting events,
playing tennis, skiing and having dinner with family and friends.
Our Time Together:
Jason and I are lucky to live in a
diverse neighborhood of Chicago. There is so much to offer in Chicago
with many parks and the beautifully maintained lakefront. We have the
culture of the city, with the opportunity to go to the museum or a
musical or visit our family which is a short drive to the suburbs.
Jason and I take advantage of the many things a city has to offer while
still having a ‘true’ neighborhood – with grass, a backyard, a
traditional house and a garage. We love to travel. Jason and I have
been to many US cities – San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas,
New Orleans, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Boston, Philadelphia and
Raleigh, North Carolina. We pick a new place each year for an
anniversary weekend. It is a great way to explore and we love it. We
have been to Italy (for our honeymoon) Cancun, St Maarten, Jamaica and
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where we own a timeshare at a really beautiful,
family oriented resort. We usually go to Cabo for a week every year.
We love the beach and the water and Cabo is a beautiful place to
visit. Jason and I go to sporting events together too. Chicago is
home to the Cubs, Bears and Bulls! We take power walks for exercise,
play tennis together, go to the movies or watch them from home. We have
a huge dvd collection! We love to play games and are really good at
backgammon. We also love to cook. Jason is an awesome griller. We go
to Kim’s hometown ribfest every year where our family participates in
the rib cook off. Our Family has taken 1st place several
times! Basically we really enjoy hanging out together. We have a cat
as a pet. Her name is Baby and she is especially in love with her
daddy! She has been our pet for over 10 years and is a very pretty
tiger striped cat.
Our
Future Family:
We have led very full lives. We
have a wonderful relationship and a great extended family. We are ready
to add another member. We have so much love to give and we look forward
to adopting. We are lucky to have the opportunity to do so. When we
first started to explore adoption, after we learned we cannot have our
own children, we did not realize how many ways adoption has touched our
lives. We have many friends who either have been adopted or who have
adopted children. Our friends’ stories of how adoption has enriched
their lives have inspired us to adopt as well. We have spent a great
deal of time with children – having a niece and 2 young nephews as well
as many friends with toddlers. We go to all the birthday parties and
events. Children are wonderful and add so much to your life. We look
forward to all the fun every day things, like reading stories, going to
the park, playing games and getting involved in sports and other
activities. We both work from home so that we have more flexibility and
can spend quality time with a baby. We both feel strongly about
education and giving children structure and support. We take our
responsibility of being good role models very seriously. We know that
things will change with a new baby and we can’t wait.
We know that Journey’s encourages open
adoption. We understand how important sharing the growth, success and
activities of the child is and we believe in open honest communication.
We would feel comfortable sharing as much or as little as you want. We
want you to know we have thought long and hard about being parents,
adoption and the emotional and financial responsibilities that entails.
We have a very happy home. Our lives would be truly blessed with a baby
in it. We would give your precious child a wonderful life and give them
an excellent foundation for future success. Thanks again for taking the
time to get to know us. We wish you the very best of luck with your
personal decision.
Sincerely – Loving Parents to Be,
Kim and
Jason |
