Dear
Birthparents,
Hi ~ we are Matt and Jamie and we are so excited for
you to read our letter. We feel that our lives have crossed paths with
yours due to a power greater than we are and this could mean something
wonderful for all of us. For you it could mean the relief of knowing you
have found a family who will love, nurture and cherish your baby more
than anything in the world. For us it could mean the answer to our
prayers of finally growing our family. Above all, it means you have
chosen the gift of “life” for your baby and that is the very greatest
and unselfish gift a mother can give her unborn child. Our thoughts and
prayers are with you as you make your difficult decision.
Matt – I truly fell in love when I first met Jamie.
She was not only beautiful on the outside but she was so fun, honest and
sincere that I couldn’t help but want to be around her. Jamie and I
complement one another well. She loves me unconditionally and is always
there for me. She knows when to say the right thing to me and has
helped me through many situations. We know how to comfort and love each
other. We understand and support each other in everything we do. She
is my best friend and I cannot imagine going through this life without
her.
Jamie - When I first met Matt 10 years ago, his
kindness and his gentle spirit were what captured my heart. He reminded
me of my dad who I love so much. From there a relationship grew that was
so genuine it was only a matter of time before I knew I would be with
him forever and after 2 yrs. we decided to get married. Matt is my rock,
my partner, my best friend and the person I could never live without.
Matt offers respect, love and dedication to each new day of his life and
all of the people he meets along the way. He is one of the most genuine,
good hearted and sincere people I have ever known. I’m so incredibly
blessed to share my life with him. He is a wonderful husband and I know
he will be an absolutely incredible father.
We live in a wonderful, family oriented neighborhood
in a suburb outside of Phoenix Arizona. It has lots of walking paths,
green parks
with amazing playgrounds and an elementary school right in the heart of
the area. Our home is a single level home with four bedrooms and three
bathrooms. We can’t wait to decorate the room just outside of our master
bedroom as the baby’s nursery. It’s been sitting empty for a long time,
just waiting for a beautiful little soul to fill the space. The
environment inside our home is very comfy, casual and inviting. We have
a large backyard with lots of room for swing sets, monkey bars and
bouncy castles in the grass. We have a beautiful swimming pool to cool
off in during the summer with a security fence around it. There are also
plenty of flat surfaces for riding bikes, roller skating and
skateboarding.
Matt - My parents have shown an overwhelming amount
of support for us in our decision to adopt. They know how long Jamie
and I have been trying to conceive and have said many times they know we
will be great parents when we get the chance. My sister and two
brothers are so excited for us and think this is such a great way to
build our family. Between the three of them I have two nieces and three
nephews who are so much fun. Since my whole family lives in Vancouver,
WA and I grew up there, we make several trips a year to see our family
and friends. They all look forward to meeting the new addition to our
family.
Jamie - My family is so excited to welcome a new baby
into their lives. My parents are very special to me and have always been
positive role models in my life. I am the oldest of 5 sisters and I have
3 nephews and 1 niece. I have been able to witness the miracle of each
one come into the world. Our family is starting to get big and BBQ’s and
holidays are unbelievably wonderful as there’s always more and more
people to love. My dad started a tradition several years ago and is
anxious to get started on his next project…a beautiful crib for the
baby. My mom spends a lot of time babysitting her grandchildren and
loving every minute of it. Our child will grow up with wonderful
grandparents, aunties & uncles and amazing cousins. I also have
extended family that live in Oregon and are just as excited for us as my
family here.
Matt
- I am the VP of Business Development for a financial services company.
I get to work from home and have my own office right at the end of our
hallway. I get to travel a little bit and sometimes Jamie travels with
me when she has time. I enjoy my job and meeting new people. Since I
work from home, I’ll never be too far away from my family.
Jamie - I work part-time as an Interior Designer for
a model home design firm. I have been working in the design industry for
almost 8 years. I enjoy being creative, but I’m really excited to be a
stay at home mom once we bring our baby home. Of course we won’t always
be at home. I intend on showing our child every wonderful thing there is
to see in this world…one adventure at a time.
We love spending time with our pets, Molly and
Tantrum. They bring us so much joy and entertainment. We enjoy traveling
to new places and also re-visiting old favorites. Every summer we go
camping in the White Mountains with all of our extended family. It’s
always so much fun fishing, hiking, playing volleyball and canoeing
around the lake. We’ve also started an annual summertime trip to
Washington to visit our families there. We also love going to plays and
musicals together and we especially loved “Chicago”.
Matt - I enjoy golfing, biking, fantasy football,
traveling, playing around with computer programs and electronics,
listening to music and playing ball with Molly. I enjoy biking so much
that I participate in a Diabetes fundraiser each year with my brother
that is a 60 mile bike ride over Mt Hood in Oregon. The views are
unbelievable and it means a lot to me to be able to raise money for a
disease that has affected our family.
Jamie - I enjoy reading, yoga, gardening, biking,
scrap-booking, sewing, going to the ocean and when nobody’s
watching…dancing. I also lend my time each year to raise money for the
Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk that my mom participates in. We
often get to babysit our nephews and nieces and love learning about who
they are and watching them grow. These visits often include going to the
park, watching movies, trips to the zoo, swimming in the pool and
drinking chocolate milk!
We cannot express how excited and appreciative we are
to have the opportunity to build our family through adoption. We plan on
parenting with love, compassion, respect and honesty. We believe in
having lots of fun along the way and encouraging our child to express
themselves in their own unique way. We will provide them with a
Christian foundation of faith and love and the ethics that encompass
that. We look so forward to learning more about you and your baby. He or
she will always know the unconditional love you had for him or her and
we are open to the amount of contact you feel comfortable with. We wish
you peace and comfort as you choose the right family for your baby. If
you decide to choose us, please rest assured that your child will be
showered with an abundance of love and will be given every opportunity
to live his or her dreams to their fullest potential.
With love and appreciation,
Matt and Jamie |
