Journeys of the Heart is pleased to announce
our licensure with the Nepali government as of October 25,
2008.
We are now accepting applications in
the program.
Nepal is phasing in the resumption of adoptions.
Nepal will initially accept only 10 applications
from each of the 50 or so adoption agencies whom the
government of Nepal allows to place children from
Nepal. We have reached our first 10 applications
and will allow another 10 families in if they wish
to be placed on our waiting list for when the quota
is eased. Families interested in adopting special
(medical) needs children may submit an application
through their adoption agency at any time without
counting against the agency’s quota. Special needs
cases will be matched more quickly as well.
Important Note For Single
Parents:
Nepal accepts only few applications from single
parents. Our list is full and we are not accepting
applications from single parents at this time. For
an update please email

Journeys had an adoption program
in
Nepal
for approximately three years, between 1998 and 2001.
During those years Journeys’ staff visited many of
the orphanages in Nepal and were
always impressed with the excellent and nurturing care the
children received.
The infrastructure at that time was minimal and it
has greatly improved since that time.
We are anxious to return to work there with the many
orphans who need permanent, safe and loving homes.
|
|
About the children: Infants will be approximately ten months old when
they arrive home and are referred when they are at least
four months old.
Toddlers and older children, up to ten years of age
are also available.
|
|
Referral information includes:
social information if available, daily routine,
photos, medical evaluation and developmental milestones.
Time for referral is unknown at this time but updates
to this page will be made as more information is obtained.
