| The Journeys of the Heart Adoption
Education class is held over a two day period, four times a year, and is
mandatory for JOH clients. Separate classes are offered for clients in
the international and domestic programs. Classes are held in the
Portland, Chicago, and Seattle areas. Clients who live outside of these
regions will receive DVD's of the class.

2007 Hague accreditation process.
Journeys' education classes are conducted by our professional program staff. Guest speakers and videos are also used to cover a variety of issues that adoptive parents need to be aware of, such as attachment and bonding, health and developmental concerns, cultural awareness, racial identity, open adoption options, support groups, recommended reading, and continuing education.
There is a fee for the class and registration is required. Participants must
rsvp for the class, and either be JOH clients (with their application submitted), or make special arrangements to take the class.
