Dear birthparents:
Thank you for considering us as
adoptive parents for your child. We cannot express what a gift you’ve
already given your child, just by choosing life, and for blessing
another couple by considering adoption. We admire your courage and
strength during this very difficult time and for making the best
decision you can – not always the easy one.
We
are Rick and Tricia. We’ve been married nine years and we would like
nothing more than to bring up your child, surround them with love, show
them the world, and help them in their journey to discover who they are.
Even though you don’t yet know us, we invite you to share in how your
child’s life unfolds with us to the extent that you choose.
Rick was born and
raised in rural Illinois, just outside of Rockford. Rick’s parents were
only 17 and 18 when he came into the world during a Christmas blizzard,
and his grandparents were in their late 30’s. Rick is an incredibly
loving, patient, and selfless man – someone your child can count on to
listen when they hurt, and to guide them through life always.
Tricia
was born and raised in England before moving to the U.S. with her family
when she was 13. Tricia’s English roots have enriched our lives with
many traditions.
Tricia loves to decorate our home for the holidays and
seasons, and celebrating with family and friends is important to her.
Tricia is very artistic and imaginative and your child’s life with her
will certainly be an adventure!
We met 11 years
ago and have been married for nine years. Our relationship is built on
friendship, love, and respect, and we have only grown closer over time.
We have always desired a family because we have so much to share, a
strong, loving marriage, a peaceful home, and immediate and extended
family in the area. We have excellent schools in our area, as well as a
world-class library and other community resources to
help us give your
child the best start possible.
We live in a
lovely, large ranch home on 1.3 acres in a rural subdivision 50 miles
west of Chicago. We
enjoy the best of both worlds − the peace and quiet of the country and
convenience of suburban activities and amenities. We share our home with
Charlotte, a golden retriever/shepherd mix that we found abandoned on a
trail in Tennessee, as well as Lokie and Forté, our two mischievous
cats.
We believe in
enjoying what we’ve been given, and building into the lives of others.
We love our home, our family, our friends, and our pets, and we cannot
wait to love a child. We will do everything we can to help your child
know how much you have given to him or her –
and to connect them to their unique heritage. It takes an incredible
amount of love and sacrifice to make the decision to allow another
family to raise your child – and we will always honor you for that. Please
know that we wish the very best for you and your child, no matter what
you decide.
