Alexander
 Our
adoption story began after we received a glowing recommendation to Journeys
of the Heart from our infertility counselor. She said that the team at
Journeys of the Heart were genuine and a wonderful group to work with. After
experiencing the adoption process with them, we whole-heartedly agree.
Jessica, their
domestic adoption coordinator was prompt in her communications with us, and
made sure all our questions were answered. She put all our fears regarding
this process to rest, and gave us a realistic idea about what to expect as
prospective parents.
Everyone in the
Journeys office was a pleasure to work with, and when we called, we were
greeted with a friendly “hello”.
 Jessica
helped us by reviewing our portfolio, and giving us suggestions. She kept us
informed at least once a month with an email detailing the domestic program
for the prior month.
When we were shown to
our son’s birth mother, Jessica kept us updated. Jessica encouraged us and
calmed our nerves when we finally got to meet our birth mother face to face.
It was nice to know that our son’s birth mother really liked Jessica too.
Our meeting went well, and we were picked with two weeks until the birth!
 During
those two weeks, Jessica kept us informed, and while we were scrambling to
get everything ready for our son, Jessica and the entire Journeys staff
continued to answer questions.
 When
we got “the call” that our birth mother was in labor, Jessica kept us up to
date, and let us know when we could come to the hospital and pick up
Alexander. She was there with us, as we spent a few hours in the hospital
room with Alexander and his birth mother. What a wonderful experience to get
to spend those few hours all together. We cherish that day, and know that
Jessica was instrumental in making it all happen.
After we brought
Alexander home, the support from Journeys did not end. They have made
themselves available, and encourage us to keep in touch.
Adoption has changed
our lives forever, and made us the family we always wanted. When Alexander
is ready for a sibling, we will definitely call Journeys of the Heart to
support us in our next adoption.
